FAQ

Questions on Etiquette?

Answers to questions on Etiquette are on the USA Dance Website.

Where can I find instructional videos for ballroom dancing?

Instructional dance videos are available at the Dance Vision website. The basic videos are free to watch.
Advanced videos are available under the Premium plan.

Do I need special shoes?

No, but please consider bringing a separate pair from your street shoes to avoid tracking dirt onto the dance floor which can make it difficult for everyone dancing. Make sure the soles are smooth enough to glide when you dance; rubber soles can grip the floor, keeping you from moving properly, and may even cause you to injure yourself.

What kind of music is played?

A variety of music suitable for many types of dances

Do I need to bring a dance partner to the dances?

No. Ballroom dancing is a highly social activity, and participants are encouraged to dance with different people unless they feel uncomfortable doing so.

Do I need to have had experience dancing?

No. People of all dance levels and ages are welcome.
